The cost is $2700 in Canadian funds (US$2,300), subject to adjustment if airfares increase or exchange rates change. The cost includes round-trip airfare from Ottawa, Canada, airport taxes, race entry fee, road transportation, food and accomodations (on Baffin Island only). The flight to Baffin Island leaves from Ottawa early Saturday, July 2, 2005. You must be at the Ottawa airport 1-1/2 hours before flight time in order to secure your seat on the flight. This usually means being at the airport at 7 am. A flight schedule will be sent to all confirmed entrants along with additional information. Due to Arctic weather conditions, flights may be delayed either going to or departing from Nanisivik airport, therefore it is not advisable to schedule tight airline connections either coming or going. Should we be laid over in Nanisivik or anywhere en route, each person will be expected to pay his or her own expenses. A $500 deposit ($250 of which is non-refundable) is required
with your application -- balance must be paid before April 30, 2004 to guarantee
a position. Once confirmed, the balance is non-refundable unless
your position can be filled from our waiting list.
